The Wyoming Food Freedom Act was an act passed by the Wyoming legislature in 2017. It was meant to increase access to home-produced food products for sale to consumers. The act made it so it was no longer a criminal offense to sell food products produced at home to the public, as long as it was not for commercial resale. This was further expanded to include beef shares in 2020. Since passing the Food Freedom Act in Wyoming, around a dozen other states have followed Wyoming’s lead passing Food Freedom and Cottage Food acts.
